Chapter 30: Montgomery G.I. Bill, Active Duty - A student must have an "Honorable" release from active duty. Eligible Service may receive up to 36 months of education benefits. The monthly benefit paid to you is based on the type of training you take, length of your service, your category, any college fund eligibility, and if you contributed to the $600 buy-up program. You usually have 10 years to use your MGIB benefits, but the time limit can be fewer or more years depending on the situation.

Chapter 31: VA Vocational Rehabilitation - This program is for veterans with service connected disabilities. Vocational Rehabilitation is handled at the VA Regional Office in Salt Lake City. For more information call (801)326-2431.

Chapter 32:Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP) Post Vietnam Era Veterans - You must have entered active duty after December 31, 1976, and before July 1, 1985.

Chapter 33: POST 911 BenefitsThe benefit level is determined based upon an individual’s aggregate qualifying active duty service. For those with multiple deployments the rate is higher than for those that have never been deployed. This program is transferable to dependents where other programs may not include that option. Once you elect chapter 33 you are bound by that choice and cannot choose another program.

Chapter 35: Survivors' and Dependents' Education Assistance Program - This program is available to sons, daughters and spouses of veterans who died in active duty or are disabled from a service connected disability, or are permanently and totally disabled, service persons missing in action and service persons forcibly detained by a foreign government.

Chapter 1606 : The Montgomery Bill Selective Reserves - Members of selective Reserve, which includes, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Reserves, The Army National Guard, and the Air National Guard. You must be actively drilling to utilize this benefit.

Chapter 1607 : The Montgomery Bill Selective Reserves - Members of selective Reserve, which includes, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Reserves, The Army National Guard, and the Air National Guard. Specifically for those who have been activated for at least 12 months or longer, not including basic training.
